Bead Beater
What are they and why do we use them? What types are there?
A bead beater is a device that vigorously shakes a tube back and forth. It is used during the Beadbeating Cell Lysis protocol to mechanically break open cells.
When do you use?
The bead-beater is used exclusively for Beadbeating Cell Lysis protocol. However the purpose of breaking open the cells may differ, to extract proteins, DNA or RNA. As a result you may treat the cells with different enzymes prior to beadbeating.
How do you use?
Follow the Beadbeating Cell Lysis protocol!
